Employment Opportunities

Our Organization

YWCA USA is on a mission to eliminate racism, empower women, stand up for social justice, help families, and strengthen communities. We are one of the oldest and largest women’s organizations in the nation, serving over 2 million women, girls, and their families.

YWCA has been at the forefront of the most pressing social movements for more than 160 years — from voting rights to civil rights, from affordable housing to pay equity, from violence prevention to health care reform. Today, we combine programming and advocacy in order to generate institutional change in three key areas: racial justice and civil rights, empowerment and economic advancement of women and girls, and health and safety of women and girls.

Our Mission

YWCA is dedicated to eliminating racism, empowering women and promoting peace, justice, freedom and dignity for all.

Our Team

YWCA USA is intentional about creating an inclusive and collaborative environment that fosters adaptability, innovation and dedicated service. As such our ideal team members are highly motivated folks who care as deeply about our mission as they do about their areas of professional expertise. Their commitment to professional excellence and to creating positive outcomes for the people we serve is a driver for how they engage, execute and lead within the organization.

Our Work Environment

YWCA USA is a national organization with a remote – first office structure. Team members are located across the United States and in multiple time zones. Our team members work core business hours, Monday through Friday, in their local time zone. That means that as long as you’re based in the United States, we’d love to hear from you.

  • YWCA USA supports a compensation and benefits program focused on creating a healthy, supportive and sustainable environment that allows our team members to show up as their authentic selves and perform at their best. • In order to counter pay inequality and uphold internal parity, salaries are non-negotiable for new and current employees. Starting salaries are always listed clearly in job descriptions.

    Why are salaries non-negotiable?

We believe that requiring new staff to negotiate in order to receive a fair salary often results in pay inequity, especially for women and people of color. We know that experience does not always equal skill. Additionally, we know that opportunities for experience have been given inequitably in many sectors, and we do not want to compound that inequity as part of our compensation structure.

YWCA USA salary bands for a given staff level are benchmarked to the 75th percentile for our sector, and all new employees are paid at the entry point to midpoint of those bands; depending on the role. These starting salaries will always be listed clearly in job descriptions. New YWCA USA staff can be assured that they are being offered the best possible salary for a new position. Employees then have the opportunity to progress through current salary bands through annual cost of living increases and performance-based pay increases, and into new salary bands through promotions.
